Western Times: Wednesday 9th December 1896

Local New: Miss C. E. Linter’s annual concert to provide Christmas dinners for the poor was held in the Town Hall, Teignmouth, last evening and despite the boisterous weather there was a good attendance. Every item in the programme was rendered most satisfactorily. Miss Linter is deserving of the greatest credit for the trouble she takes in endeavouring to make a large number happy at the festive season, and in this work, she receives valuable assistance from Mr. A. Southey and local friends. The following took part: Miss C. E. Linter, Mr. S. Harris, Miss C. Martin, Miss Harris, Rev. T. F. Daffen, Members of St. Michael’s Choir, Rev. Capel Cure, Miss Pinsent, Rev. F. A. W. Hamilton Gell, Mrs. E. Capel Cure, Miss Saul, Miss Cadell, Mr. Wright.
