Kingsteignton: Congregational Chapel Bazaar: On Thursday and Friday the friends of the above place of worship held a bazaar in the British School room in aid of funds for alterations to the chapel. These alterations consist of lengthening the chapel about 15 feet and providing additional gallery accommodation, and cutting away the present flat ceiling and putting in an open one thus giving better facilities for ventilation the place … Stalls had been provided by Mrs. Row and Mrs. Cornish, Mrs. Smalldridge and Mrs. T. Snow, Mrs. Walling (attended by Miss Shears), Misses Davey, Knowles and Murrin, Miss E. Beardon and her class, Mrs. Freestone, Mrs. Pinsent and Miss Snow. The Misses Cornish and Miss Legier, of Newton, presided at the piano. … … The amount realized without raffling or any extra attractions was about £110. This result has quite satisfied the friends, and they look forward with great confidence to the opening of the chapel when altered quite free from debt.
