The Chudleigh District Agricultural Ploughing Matches take place on Thursday next, at Bovey Tracey, in fields kindly lent by Mr. H. Pinsent of Whitstone Farm, whilst the Cattle and Horse show will be held in a field near the station kindly lent by Mr. Joll. The committee has W.R. Hole as President, with Mr. Loveys, of Moreton, as Hon. Secretary. A good programme has been issued, and should the weather prove favourable the event will doubtless be attended with success. It is understood that some of the elite of the neighbourhood, including Lord Clifford and Mr. Seale-Hayne, M.P. have signified their intention of being present. Dinner will be served at the Dolphin Hotel Assembly Rooms by host Joll. There being good prizes offered some keen competition is expected. The Bovey Brass Band will be in attendance.
