Western Chronicle: Friday 15th June 1894

Axminster Football Club: On Friday evening, in the Old School Room, a general meeting of the Football club was held, Mr. J. D. Pinsent (captain) in the chair. Mr. Jeffor was vice-chairman. The accounts showed an adverse balance of £5 1s. On the proposition of Mr. Jefford, seconded by Mr. F. Sparks, an appeal was made to the meeting to clear off the debt. £5 16s was at once raised, which, together with outstanding subscriptions, will enable the club to start the season with a balance in hand. Officers for the coming season were then elected as follows: President, Capt. Cann, J.P. C.C., vice-presidents, same as last season, captain, Mr. J. D. Pinsent, sub-captains, Mr. F.
