Dances of Old: Roseland Concert Party at Truro: Almost unique these days are the old-time dances, performed by the Roseland concert party at a delightful entertainment in Women’s Institute, Truro, Friday. There was an appreciative audience. The concert party is touring practically the whole of Cornwall—chiefly the villages—with the object of promoting a better standard of music and dancing. The party scored a pronounced success on Friday, when the programme included music, songs, and dancing in costumes of different ages. The dances were presented by Miss Maud Douie, and the musicians were the Misses M. and E. Radford. Many of the items were encored. The dancers were the Misses M. Douie, Marion Radford, H. Pinsent, and Messrs. A. D. Barfield and C. Cooper. The programme, which was efficiently and tastefully performed, was in two parts, the first consisting of the 16—17th century group of dances, and the second the 18th century group. … …
