Rugby: Paignton v Totnes: At Totnes on Saturday: The homesters attacked early in the game, nearly getting over after a run by Marley. Webber saved smartly, and the Totnes quarters failing to handle neatly, the visiting up’s cleared and went right away to the other end, Yeoman scoring for T. Wyatt to goal. Totnes got on the offensive again, and after a vigorous attack in front of goal a forward touched down: Pinsent converting. Forward work helped Paignton down, and after some pretty outside play Drew dashed through and transferred to A Wyatt, who scored Paignton’s second try. At half time the visitors were leading by two goals to one. Totnes had the best of the second portion of the game and forced two saves. Windeatt got away cleverly and reached within a yard of the line. He was tackled, but Hingston touched down, and Pinsent’s kick equalised the score. For a time, play ruled fairly even at the centre, but Totnes got on the attack time after time, and made a big effort to notch a third try. They were unsuccessful, however, and the game ended in a draw of ten points each …
