Totnes Weekly Times: Saturday 13th July 1901

Totnes v Teign Vale: Totnes obtained a brilliant victory over Teign Vale at home on Thursday afternoon. H. B. Tucker and R. M. Pinsent went to the wickets first and played havoc with the bowling. The first named left with the score at 53, having scored 28 runs. Then J. B. Maye came in and runs came rapidly, the latter not being dismissed until a total of 127 had been compiled. L. Tucker next joined Pinsent and together they carried the score to 151, when Tucker was given run out, although there were some doubts about it. With only three wickets down, Totnes cecared their innings closed. Pinsent carried out his bat for 65, in the compiling of which he hit one six and two fours, two threes and seven twos. … Scores: Totnes: 151 (R. M.
