Nuneaton Observer: Friday 5th April 1889

The Amalgamation of Birmingham and Wolverhampton Banks: A special meeting of shareholders of the Birmingham Dudley, and District Bank (Limited) was held on Tuesday at the Grand Hotel, Birmingham, to approve of a conditional agreement for the amalgamation with the company of the business of the Wolverhampton and Staffordshire Banking Company. There was a large attendance. Mr. Walter Williams presided; and the other directors present were Messrs. J. N. Brown, A. F. Godson, M.P., J. W. Williams, J. Walker, R. T. Smith, and T.
