C. Norrington and Co’s Annual Audit Dinner: On Wednesday last, Messrs., C. Norrington and Co., of Plymouth, Newton Abbot, and the other chief towns in Devonshire, entertained their customers (upwards of a hundred) at a dinner at Magor’s Commercial Hotel. Mr. Magor’s catering was excellent. The Chair, in the absence of Mr. C. Norrington, was taken by his highly respected manager, Mr. C. H. S. Veale, whilst Mr. H. Tapper (Kingsteington) and Mr. R. The Mayor and Mayoress’s Ball at the Victoria Rooms: The Mayor of Southampton (F. Perkins, Esq._ and the Mayoress gave a grand ball at the Royal Victoria Rooms on Thursday evening, and it passed off with very much éclat; indeed, such a brilliant affair of the kind had never before taken place in Southampton.
