West Looe Town Trust: Mr. William Pengelly Marshall writes: “It may interest some of your readers to know that the following is a copy of a letter which I addressed to the Secretary of the Charity Commission on 26th ult.: – I beg to ask your attention to the manner in which the West Looe town Trust is being administered, or mal administered by the Trustees now in office … (discussion) … I am of opinion that it would be fair and equitable if the freehold of the land, upon which the houses and shop now stand, were handed over to the lessee, and the remaining portion retained by the Trust: A Mr. Pinsent was the lessee of the land before Mr. Buller, and in the year 1619 seven persons were “presented” at one of the borough law courts of West Looe – for that we suppose their houses and courts are built on and upon the town land. … (ongoing discussion) …

Thought it was father’s: Case at St. Columb Sessions: At St. Columb Petty Sessions on Tuesday, William J. Tresidder and Alfred E. Tresidder, brothers, Padstow, were charged with theft of a boat at St. Breock. Thos. Walter Key, Bodillick, St. Breock said his farm ran down to the River Camel. He had a boat in Pinsent Cove. He last saw it at 9.0 p.m. on 26th May. It was fastened 15th above high water for the purpose of being painted … … Defendant William said their father had a boat at Little Petherick Creek, but he had been unable to find it.
