Glass’s Committee: A demonstration on baking a ginger cake was given to Glass W.R.I. by Mrs Anderson. The competition — for best six eggs — resulted: —1, Mrs. Mackie, 2, Miss W. Gauld, Mrs. Robertson. There were 10 1/2 dozen eggs sent to Huntly Cottage Hospital. A guessing competition on common advertisements organised by Mrs. Fraser, resulted: —1, Miss Cameron, 2, Mrs. McBain. Guessing the number of peas in the bottle was won by Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Watt. New committee is: —Hon. president, Mrs. Ingleby; president, Mrs. Pinsent; vice-president, Mrs. Duncan; secretary, Mrs. Anderson; treasurer, Miss Gauld; Mrs. Gardyne, Mrs. Mackie, Mrs. Thomson, Mrs. Smith, Miss West, Mrs. Watson, and Mrs. Robertson. Misses Thomson and Proctor were tellers. Votes of thanks to the hostesses and Mrs. Shand were given by Mrs. Anderson and to the demonstrators by Mrs. Thomson.

Glass Health Talk: Presiding at Glass W.R.I. Mrs. Pinsent of Edinglassie, president, gave an interesting talk on health and how to protect oneself against gas poisoning in air raids. It was appreciated by the members. Recipes for an invalid dish were also judged by Mrs. Pinsent, who made the following awards: — 1, Mrs. Watt, Blairmore Cottages; 2, Mrs. Shand, Demeath. Various games were enjoyed, prizes being given to Mrs. Pinsent. Tea hostesses were: — Mrs. Thomson, Miss Brander, Mrs. Gardyne and Miss Rolison. Votes of thanks were given by Mrs. Duncan to Mrs. Pinsent for her interesting talk, also to the Masters Pinsent, who helped with the various games, and to the hostesses.
