Death of an Old Resident: Mrs. Hannah Pinsent: We regret to record the death, which occurred on Sunday, of Mrs. Hannah Pinsent, wife of Mr. James Walter of “St. Mildred’s” The Downs, Beacon Hill, Herne Bay, at the age of seventy-six. Mr. and Mrs. Pinsent came to reside at Herne Bay thirty-six years ago and took up residence on the East Cliff at a time when there were only three houses there, and no main roads. They have thus seen the remarkable growth which has taken place in that part of the town. In those days Mr. and Mrs. Pinsent came down for the summer months, and they took up permanent residence some eleven years ago, when Mr. Pinsent retired from business in London. They have, during their residence here, actively identified themselves with the mission which started in Beltinge some years ago by members of the Baptist community. Mrs. Pinsent’s indifferent health, however, curtailed her activities in social matters, but she always took a keen interest in the mission and in the growth and welfare of the town. Mrs. Pinsent leaves two daughters, one of whom is Mrs. Mortlock, wife of Mr. H. R. Mortlock. who is well-known for his association with the Bohemians and other organizations. The funeral took place on Thursday at the Southgate Cemetery, North London.
