Dunn, M.PP., and offered as a first prize for a mare gelding 15 hands or above, and rested in single harness, was won by Mr. W. T. Pinsent of Newton Abbot. A silver rose bowl, valued at five guineas, presented by Mr. William Hosken, of Johannesburg, was offered as the first prize of hunters to carry not less than 12 stone and was won by W. H. Yeo, Stonehouse. A silver cup valued at three guineas, presented by Mr. W. T. Pinsent, Newton Abbot, was offered as the first prize for a harness horse born in Cornwall, and was won by Mr. J. Devon Licensing Committee: Compensation Claims and Awards: Moretonhampstead Licenses: … … Punchbowl, Moretonhampstead: The sum of £1,033 12s was claimed on behalf, of the owner of the Punch Bowl Inn, Moretonhampatend (Mr. W. Pinsent, brewer, Newton Abbot), and the licensee (Mr. C. Loram). Mr. Tarbet appeared for the parties. Mr. Lucas said it was the sort of property to become void or burned down. The present rental was £23, cost of conversion £10, and the future value would not be more than £12 a year. Mr. C. Cole, Exeter, said it would only make a very poor class of cottage property. The Committee offered £550, which was not accepted, and the easel goes to the Inland Revenue Commissioners.

Punch Bowl Inn, Moreton: Mr. Tarbet again appeared to claim £1,088 11s in connection with the license of the Punch Bowl Inn, Moreton. The owner was Wm. Swayne Pinsent, Newton Abbot, and the licensee Chas. Loram. Mr. Lucas said the present rental was £23, the cost of conversion would be £10, and the fixture value not more than £12 a year. Mr. C. Cole, architect, of Exeter, also gave evidence, and the Committee considered a fair valuation would be £500.
