Cricket: Totnes v Staverton: At Totnes on Thursday, the town team opened their cricket season with a game with Staverton winning easily. They compiled 157 for the loss of six wickets, Rev. H. S. Prinsep, Messrs. H. Tucker, R. M. Pinsent, and W. Gibson, batting freely. Tucker in his fine score of 58 obtained five sixes. The wickets of the visitors quickly fell before the bowling of Pinsent and Gibson, and they were all out for 36, of which “Mr. Extras” contributed 10: (R. M. Pinsent b. Presswell 36; and took three wickets).
