Smoking Concert at Winchcombe: A capital smoker was arranged by the committee of the Winchcombe Unionist Working Men’s Club Ltd., and took place in the Assembly Rooms on Wednesday evening, there being a large company present: The chair was occupied by Dr. S. Soden, who was supported on the platform by Capt. W. Deakin, M.C., and the Rev. J. Pinsent, A.K.C. … … A vote of thanks to the chairman was proposed by Mr. H. D. Woodward and seconded by Mr. W. C. Belcher. Songs were sung by the Rev. J. Pinsent, Captain Deakin, and Messrs. W. Webb, F. Lane … etc. …

A Winchcombe Social In connection with the St. Peter’s Lads’ Club social was arranged, and this took place at the Women’s Institute in the evening. Usual games were first indulged in, after which refreshments were partaken of. The following gentlemen then contributed the musical part of the programme: Rev. J. Pinsent, Mr. S. Comfort, Mr. W Humphries, and Mr. H. Weeks, each item being loudly re-demanded. Messrs. S. Woodward and M. Robertson acted as accompanist. The refreshments were kindly given by Messrs. Pudell, Griffin, E. Day, and Mrs. J. Pinsent. Altogether a most enjoyable time was spent. A short dance terminated the proceedings.

Members from S.S. Andrews’s, Botolph’s, All Saints, Swithin’s & Michaels’s comprising the serve’s guild, united in an inspiring service at S. Swithin’s, Copes, censers, crosses and processional lights were gladly leant, and each of the contributing clergy and churches were eager to do everything to make the meeting a success. The Rev. E. F. Wood, Vicar of S. Swithin’s was the celebrant, and the Gospel was sung at the entrance to the choir by the Rev. J. A. Pilling and the Rev. John Pinsent was Epistoler. The vicars of S.S. Andrews’s, Michael’s, Botolph’s and Canon Boulter were in copes and there was a good attendance. …
