Swindon Wesleyans: Jubilee Bazaar: The Faringdon Street Wesley Church, Swindon, has during its jubilee year made several efforts to free itself from the incubus of debt. On Wednesday the result of much hard work and self-sacrifice on the part of all connected with this church culminated in a jubilee bazaar held in the Wesley Institute with the object of raising £50 for the Sunday School, £50 for circuit funds and £150 towards the £1,000 jubilee scheme for extinction of debt on the church buildings. … (description of event) … Music was supplied by Mr. S. Jubilee Bazaar in Swindon: Wesley £1,000 Scheme: With the object of raising £150 for the Wesley, £1,000 Jubilee Scheme, £50 for Sunday Schools and £50 for Circuit funds, a bazaar was held in the Wesley Schoolroom, Faringdon Street, Swindon, on Wednesday, and proved a great success. The president of the undertaking was the Rev. W. A. Prunell, O.B.E., who however, was unfortunately, unable to be present at the bazaar in consequence of the burial of his father, who died suddenly last Friday at the age of 82 years and was buried that (Wednesday) afternoon. … (description of event) … 

The Opening Ceremony was a very interesting gathering: Between 50 and 60 children, clad in their best, formed up under the direction of Miss M. Lott, and with the pleasing piano accompaniment of Miss G. Solven, presented purses to Miss Janet D. Early, who came from Witney to perform the pleasing function of receiving the purses.
