Although the main feature of the programme was the dancing of Miss Irene M. Berridge’s pupils, speciality dances by the principal herself, songs by Mr. Harold Pinsent, and songs and monologues by Miss Irene Berridge added a touch of variety to an enjoyable programme. ….

“The Merry Wives of Windsor”: Drama Society’s Great Performance. “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” that most delightful farce was staged by the Leicester Drama Society this week for the concluding portion of their season at the Opera House. You cannot be disgusted with Sir John, despite his coarseness; indeed, in that when the character is well acted our feelings must be one of profound sympathy for the old reprobate, and we must laugh with him at himself. Boy’s Home Concert: A concert was given at the Boys’ Home, Highcross-street on Sunday by Miss Marjorie Moss, assisted by Mr. James Mawby, Mr. Harold Pinsent, Master James Hurren (vocalists), Madame May Moodie (piccolo), Master Ronald Brown (piano solos), Miss Dorothy Dobney (elocutionist). A feature of the evening was the piano solos by Master Ronald Brown and the solos by Master James Hurren, both youthful artistes. Miss Moss gave musical monologues and presided at the piano.

Belgrave P.M. Church, Claremont Street: Sunday School anniversary services in connection with the above church were held yesterday. The pastor, the Rev. J. Whittle was the preacher.  In the afternoon the Rev. W. Hughes, of Thurmaston gave an interesting address to parents and scholars. In the day’s special singing the following were the soloists: Misses R. Cornish, D. Walker, M. Horner, 0. Walker, J. Barrett, and Ivy Gilder, and Master Harold Pinsent. The total collections were £10 1s. At the close of the evening service special attention was made of the efficient way in which Councillor Geo. Milton had trained the children.
