At the Gilroes Hospital a concert was arranged by Mr. W. H. Brain, in which the Misses How, Pinsent, Mr. S. Wilford and Professor Riddington took part, a whist drive following, and later there was a dance. Ald. Windley paid a visit during the day.

Oxford Street Adult School: Mr. Albert Roberts arranged a highly successful concert at this school on Sunday morning, in order to provide funds for Christmas parcels to members at the front. Mr. John Eastwood presided, and the artistes includes Mrs. Pemberton Peake (elocutionist and pianist), Miss E. Burgess, Miss E. Holloway, Mr. E. Rippin, Mr. S. Howkins, Mr. H. Copson, and Mrs. Hanson (vocalists), and Miss D. Pinsent (elocutionist). There was a large attendance.

Concert at Narborough Road Schools: A successful concert was given at the Narborough Road Schools last night in aid of the Mayor’s £100,000 scheme and the West End Association of the Entertainment of wounded Soldiers … There was a large and appreciative audience at Victoria Galleries last night, where a concert, arranged by Miss Margaret Jerome was held in aid of the Mayor’s Fund. The artistes were Misses Louise Martin (soprano), Ada Hallam (contralto), Mabel Crisp (violinist), Eveline Maude (danseuse). H. M. Wskerler (pianist and accompanist). Margaret Jerome (elocutionist), Masers. H. E. Pickering (tenor), and Fitz Hallam (bass). A sketch, “At Cross Purposes,” was presented, the parts being taken by Mrs. Ida Bell. Miss Cecilia Kitchen, May Skerrington, Doris Pinsant, Iva Brown, and Margaret Jerome.

Y.M.C.A. Soldier’s Hut: A concert held in the Y.M.C.A. Hut yesterday afternoon was a great success in spite of the very cold weather. There was a large audience, and the following artistes were much appreciated: Misses Gladys Letts, Doris Pinsent, Gladys Cousins, Mdme. Gwladys Nicholls, A.R.C.M. Accompanist. Messrs. Albert Burford and Fred Radford. Mr. A. W. Halford took the chair.

Ratby: … Christmas Fund for Soldiers and Sailors. — Recently a flag day in aid of this fund realized with donations over 13 guineas, and a concert with a similar object was given on Saturday evening in the Primitive Methodist Church Schoolroom, presided over by the Rev G. E. Gilbanks. The room was crowded, and the following contributed: Miss Richardson and Miss H. Lacey (pianoforte Miss Chapman, Miss (Geary, and Mr. Jos. Gamble (solos), Mr. Ellingworth (humorous song), sketches by members of the P.M. Church Young Women’s Class, and Miss Pincent (recitation).
