Lawn Tennis: Finals at Teignmouth and Dawlish: Miss J. Curry, the young Devon player won two finals at the Teignmouth tennis tournament Saturday, the women’s singles, level and, with E. Roper beat G. Pinsent and Miss Norris in the mixed doubles after a hard game. Misses Curtis, of Denbury, were also successful in the women’s doubles, accounting for Miss D. Eastley, of Paignton, and Mrs. G. Lucas, the well-known Devon player.

Aberystwyth: … … Cricket: Sloan’s Athletic (Birmingham), who are touring North Wales, suffered their first defeat of the tour when they were defeated by the Aberystwyth Y.M.C.A. by 48 runs to 55 on Friday. J. Pinsent, 18, and Alf Davies, 12, were top scorers for the Y.M.C.A. … On Saturday Ceredigion and Portmadoc teams played on the Vicarage Field, the match ending in a draw. Ceredigion scored 122 runs for eight wickets (declared) and Portmadoc 44 for seven. J. Pinsent, 31, not out and A. Watson, 22, headed the Ceredigion scoring.
