London Conference: Government Consulting Opposition Parties: It is understood that the Government are taking Conservative and Liberal leaders into consultation with reference to the steps involved in dealing with the German economic crisis. British policy in the coming conference in London may be expected, therefore, to represent a united British front. … An official communiqué issued yesterday stated that “In view of the convocation of a meeting of Ministers next Monday, the Committee confined itself at this stage to settling preliminary questions of procedure. Sir E. W. Leigh-Ross was appointed chairman and Mr. G. H. S. Pinsent and Mr. J. V. Perowne secretaries. It was agreed to set up a special sub-committee to examine and report on the facts relating to outstanding contracts for deliveries in kind.” …

Experts Confer in London: Representatives of Seven Nations: Hoover Plan Discussed: Working out the Technical Details: Representatives of the Governments of Seven nations arrived at the Treasury in Whitehall this morning for the beginning of the Conference of Experts which was set up to work out the technical details of President Hoover’s plan for the suspension of War Debt payments for one year. Experts from Seven Nations Confer:  Representatives of the Governments of seven nations arrived at the Treasury in Whitehall this morning for the beginning of the conference of experts which was set up to work out the technical details of President Hoover’s plan for the suspension of war debt payments for one year. The swift march of events in the financial crisis in Europe has shorn the conference of much of its initial importance, but the gathering of such a body of specially qualified men is regarded as opportune and especially valuable in view of the conference of ministers hurriedly summoned by the British Government which opened in London on Monday. It is expected that after deliberating over the weekend, the experts will, on Monday, revert to their more accustomed roles of acting individually as advisers to the statesmen who will assemble either at No. 10, Downing Street, or the Foreign Office.
