Mr. Arthur Keen’s Will: Mr. Arthur Thomas Keen, of Harborne Park, Harborne, Birmingham, chairman of Messrs. Guest, Keen, and Nettlefolds (Limited), who died on June 27, aged 57 left estates of the value of £71,861 gross and £70,422 net. Under the will of his father, he appoints £1,000 a year to his wife during widowhood, and the remainder of the funds to his four children. He gives £1,000 to his wife, £200 to Roy Pinsent, and the residue the property in trust for his wife for life or widowhood, or annuity of £1,000 should she again marry, and subject thereto, for his children Arthur William, Isabel Doris, Margaret Honor, and Charles Henry. Probate is granted to Mrs. Keen, the widow.

Chudleigh: After a very short illness, the death took place on Wednesday last of Miss Florence Pinsent, third daughter of the late Mr. John Pinsent, and of Mrs. Pinsent, of Woodway Street, at the early age 30 years. The deepest sympathy is extended to the mother and the relatives in their sad and sudden bereavement. — The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at the Congregational Church, the interment being in the cemetery. The Rev. E. Spry conducted the service.

The chief mourners were Messrs. Wallace and Willie Pinsent (brothers), Mrs. Heath and Miss A. Pinsent (sisters), Master W. Heath (nephew), and Mrs. W. Pinsent and Mrs. A. Pinsent (sister-in-last).

Stratford Upon Avon Herald: Friday 18th October 1918

The Local Government Board wrote transmitting a copy of a report from Mrs. Pinsent who visited the Guardians institution on behalf of the Board of Control. Four males and two females of unsound mind she saw appeared contented and happy, and further particulars were given of individual cases. Miss Verney described the report as a curious commentary on Mrs. Pinsent’s advice that they ought to have more of such people in the workhouse. …

Western Times: Saturday 24th August 1918

Newton Urban Tribunal: Mr. W. Vicary last evening presided at a sitting of the Newton Abbot Urban District Tribunal, when Major Oswald-Brown, National Service representative, remarked that it did not seem right that a man of 37 should remain whilst a man of 47 was taken. The National Service were applying for the withdrawal of the exemption granted J. Warren, cellarman and brewer’s assistant, to Mr. W. S. Pinsent. The employer stated that the man had been with him for thirteen years, and was the only man left in that particular department. Major Oswald-Brown: With all respect, I submit Mr. Pinsent has made no attempt to obtain a substitute. The application was refused.
