A Masonic Funeral: Impressive Southsea Ceremony: The funeral of the late Lieut. Henry S. Duke, 147, Percy-road, took place on Saturday at the Highland-road Cemetery, Southsea, in the presence of a large gathering of personal and Masonic friends and the general public. The deceased, who was a retired Lieutenant of the Indian Ordnance Department, died December 30th. The remains, encased by a polished elm coffin, with brass fittings, were followed to the grave by private mourners, including Mr. Arthur G. Duke, of London, brother, and Miss Pinsent, of Aldershot, stepdaughter, and Captain and Mrs. Rawlings. The late Lieut. Duke, although in his 74th year, was an active Freemason to the last, being P.P.A.G.D.C. in the Craft, P.P. 1st A.G.S. in the Royal Arch, P.P.G.S.O. in the Mark, P.M.W.S. in the Rosa Croix. D.I.G. in the Masonic and Military Orders of Knights, and P.M. of the Council Degrees. … (description of occasion) … War. Bro. Canon S. G.
