Shows of Light Horses: Exeter … … The harness classes were only moderately filled, both as regards numbers and quality. In the first for mares and geldings not exceeding 14.2 Mrs. C. Bell was first and third with Lady Wilton and Lady Dainty, both of whom are nice goers, the former having previously won in the pony broodmare class, and the two afterwards were placed first in local pairs. The pair was on this occasion divided by Mr. Huxham’s Lady Helen, another nice trapper. In the next group Mr. Swain Pincent was first and second with Lady Olivette and Hepstonstall Go-Lightly, two hackney’s with great action, which stood clear away from the remainder; and then in the open competition Miss Burston’s Maisey Dot defeated Messrs. Butcher and Weight’s Gentleman and England’s Caesar, the first two of whom were close together.
