Petty Sessions: Tuesday: Before Mr. Marwood Tucker (chairman) and Captain Forward: School Cases: George Loud, labourer, Axminster was summoned for not sending his child regularly to school. Mr. W. Forward, clerk to the Axminster School Board, prosecuted. Mr. Pinsent, attendance officer, proved this and the following cases: Fined 2s 6d. – John Goddard, Samuel Willey and Thomas House were each fined 2s 6d and James Fry 2s for similar offences.
