Queen’s Birthday Honours: The Queen has been pleased to approve that the Earl of Jersey, Paymaster-general, and William Lawies Jackson, Esq., M.P., Financial Secretary for the Treasury, be admitted to her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. Her Majesty has also been pleased to approve the following gentlemen to be created Baronets of the United Kingdom: … (continues) … To be Knights Commanders … To be Companions … (includes) … Mr. Robert J. Pinsent was called to the Bar in 1856, appointed a member of the Newfoundland Legislative Council in 1859, was created a Queen’s Counsel in 1865, and a Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court in 1880, and received the degree of D.C.L., at Lambeth Palace in 1881. …
