Leicester Evening Mail: Tuesday 17th October 1917

Oxford Street Adult School: Mr. Albert Roberts arranged a highly successful concert at this school on Sunday morning, in order to provide funds for Christmas parcels to members at the front. Mr. John Eastwood presided, and the artistes includes Mrs. Pemberton Peake (elocutionist and pianist), Miss E. Burgess, Miss E. Holloway, Mr. E. Rippin, Mr. S. Howkins, Mr. H. Copson, and Mrs. Hanson (vocalists), and Miss D. Pinsent (elocutionist). There was a large attendance.
