Sanvey-Gate Adult School: The 44th annual meeting of this school was held on Sunday morning, Mr. H. S. Bennett, presiding over a good attendance. The report of this year’s work, submitted by the secretary, showed a slight decrease in the average attendance, as compared with the previous year – 219 against 228 – accounted for by the fact that during the latter months 25 members had responded to the national call for service in the Army and Navy. The report also showed that much good work had been done during the year. In addition to the special lectures and addresses, a series of instructive lecturettes had been given in the adjoining rooms.
