Christmas Gifts for Local Sailors and Soldiers: Leicester “Post” & “Mercury” Fund: Some Forthcoming Concerts: The money necessary for providing Leicester and Leicestershire soldiers and sailors with a suitable Xmas present is not coming in so rapidly as might be wished seeing that we are now within a month of the time for dispatching the parcels … … A number of interesting evening events have been arranged for the benefit of the fund. A smoking concert is to be held on Wednesday next, the 24th inst., at the Manchester Working Men’s Club and Institute, Hamberstone Gate.
