130 Yards All England Handicap: A 130 yards’ All England foot handicap, promoted by the directors of the Cricket Ground Company was commenced on the grounds at Aylestone on Saturday evening. The prizes amounted to L. 12 10s and this sum was sufficient to induce 50 professional “peds” to enter for the events, these being arranged in twelve heats. Of the number of entries above stated, however, 27 failed to put in an appearance, two of the heats being void and one resulting in a walkover.
