Leamington Town Council … General Purpose Committee: At a meeting of this committee, the Finance Committee submitted their special report, recommending that Mr. F. Glover’s three tenders for printing as per schedule of prices be accepted for the ensuing year, which report was approved and adopted, the tenders named being the lowest received. A letter was read from Smith, Pincent, and Co., asking for the consent of the Council for a grant of a Provisional Order to the Midland Electric Light and Power Company, Limited, which letter had been dealt with by the Electric Light Sub committee, and on their recommendation, it was resolved that the application be not acceded to, as the Corporation are promoting an order themselves …
