Mental Deficiency: The Mental Deficiency Committee received a copy of the report of the Commissioner the Board of Control of the Ministry of Health (Miss Pinsent) on her December visit to the Institution. The Commissioner was pleased with the general appearance and behaviour of the 27 boys in residence. They took great pride in their work, and the Commissioner was glad to see that the boys had been divided into two classes according to their menial grades. The staff were also to be congratulated on the evident well-being and happiness of the boys. The Chairman and several members expressed appreciation of the report and the work of Mr. and Mrs. Smith at the Mental Deficiency Department.
