Alfred Sidney Pinsent was the only son of Alfred Charles Pinsent  and Sarah Ann Pinsent (née Dyer). He was born in Walthamstow in 1909. I do not know very much known about his early life; however, he was a “tinsmith” when he married in 1932. Alfred Sidney was living with his parents on Church Street in Dunstable (Bedford, England, Electoral Registers, 1832 – 1986) at the time. He married Gladys Ivy Bleaney, a “book-binder”, in Luton and they had a daughter Rita Ivy Pinsent shortly thereafter. They would later add two sons Ivor Barry Pinsent and Michael Edward Pinsent. The family was living at #12 Drury Lane, in Luton when the 1939 Register was compiled. Alfred Sidney gave his profession as “construction erector” at the time, so he had presumably followed his father into the construction business.

Alfred Sidney died in 1983. His widow, Gladys, stayed on in Luton – presumably to be near her sons and she died there in 1996, at the age of 84 years.
