Gloucester Citizen: Monday 1st April 1907

Gloucester Timber Yard Fire: Two Youths Arrested: Charged with Arson at Price, Walker, and Son’s: Accused Remanded till Wednesday: At the Gloucester Central Police Station on Saturday evening, before Alderman Tom Blinkhorn, J. P., Charles Turner (18), labourer, of St. James’ Street, Gloucester, and William Henry Ramsey (17) a labourer of Melbourne Street, Gloucester were brought up in custody charged with arson. The prisoners, who are well known in the city, were arrested on suspicion of having caused the fire at the Monk Meadow Dock timber yard …  … It is probably that the case will not be completed on that day, and that a further remand will then be applied for. Mr. Frank Eden Smith (of Messrs. Pinsent and Co., solicitors, Birmingham) who appeared on behalf of the prosecutors in the recent charges of incendiarism against the youth who has now been committed for trial, will, it is expected, conduct the case for the prosecution.
