Rugby Football: … Newton followed up their reverse at the hands of the Bristolians by a win over Devon Wanderers on Saturday at Teign Marshes. But it was a game of very poor description, through the state of the “leather.” Science was out of the question. But Newton played well, especially forward, where there are to be found some good men. Elwell was in a very fair form, and Pearce and Pictor, as usual, did the lion’s share of the work.
