Chudleigh: Parish Meeting: Lively Proceedings: There was a large attendance at the annual Parish Meeting held at the Town Hall, Chudleigh. Mr. C. J. Stephens, the Chairman of the Parish Council presided. The statement of accounts of the Chudleigh Charities, Pynsent’s Exhibition’s Foundation, and the Eastchurch’s Gift were received and adopted. In connection with the first, a list of recipients was issued, which with the accounts, had been posted publicly for nearly three months. A demand for this to be read was made and after it had been read Mr. Humphries complained that some of the people who had received gifts were better off than himself. …
