Opening of a Constitutional Club: Lady Northcote opened on Wednesday the new Constitutional Club at Dawlish … (description of event) … In the evening an “At Home” was held in the Assembly Rooms. Tea and coffee were served from 6.30 to 8, and there was vocal and instrumental music at intervals, in which the following took part, the Misses Harvey, Miss Curtis, Messrs. Ferris, Colwill, W. Cole, F. Leslie, Pinsent, H. Blackmore, Scott, and F. Cornelius. During the evening an address was given Mr. Nix. Dancing commenced at 9.0 p.m. The M.C.’s were: Messrs. R. S. Lamacraft, W. Cole, and T. Shapter. The music was discoursed Mr. Lombardini’s quadrille band.
