All who had the pleasure of witnessing Newport’s play last season are anticipating an interesting game and I have no doubt their hopes will be fulfilled … The season which is now fast drawing to a conclusion has been most successful from Newton’s point of view. The final match will be against Bovey on April 27th: Newton will go to Redruth this afternoon to play the return match against the Cornish champions with the following team: W. H Pinsent, back; W. M. Greenfield, I. Pearse, J. G. Donaldson and R. H. Brooks, three-quarters, C. L. Donaldson and W. Hobbs, half-backs; F. J. Sellicks (captain), W. G. Elliott, G. Cowley, W. Curtis, J. Bradbury, T. Burns, W. Baker and W. Hussey, forwards. ….
