Highweek and the Isolation Hospital: A special meeting of the Highweek Parochial Sanitary Committee was held in the Infants’ Schoolroom Wednesday evening: W. S. Pinsent presiding. The meeting was called with respect to the sites proposed for the Isolation Hospital. After discussion it was unanimously resolved “That this meeting, having heard with regret that piece of Land at Esshill in this parish has been proposed as the site for an Isolation Hospital, earnestly protests against such site being finally selected, and desires to point out, that the erection of the Hospital at the site named, will injuriously affect the letting of houses in that district, and will also be fatal to the prospects of more residences being erected on the adjacent land, for which purpose the Land is eminently suitable. … continues …
