Mr. C. B. Kay announces a grand concert to take place in the Alexandra Hall on Monday the 9th inst, when caps will be presented to the members of the Newton Rugby fifteen. Among the artistes engaged are Mr. C. J. Bishenden, the celebrated bass from St. James’ Hall and Crystal Palace, London; Mr. Sidney Croydon, the clever female impersonator and comic; Mr. W. Davis, violinist; Mr. W. H. Pinsent, Mr. J. H. Wills and Mr. Kay who will introduce “E’s found out where ‘e are,” “Down the Road,” and “Take it on boys,” (Newton version).
