An attractive concert under the management of Mr. C. B. Kay, will be given in the Alexandra Hall on Thursday and Friday, December 14th and 15th, the proceeds of which will be given to the Newton Fooball Club. Among those who will assist are Messrs. C. B. Kay, W. H. Pinsent, P. Foster, A. W. Dixon, J. Baker, A. J. Chapple, J. Elms, G. Wood, J. Brock, the champion trick cyclist and skater of the West of England, R. P. Hannaford, J. H. Wills, and Mrs. Foster. … Also … The question of forming an association football club for Newton was considered at a meeting held at the Bradley Hotel on Tuesday evening. The meeting decided that a club was desirable, and the officers were appointed as follows: Captain, Mr. P Foster; sub-captain, Mr. W. H. Pinsent, secretary, Mr. C. B. Kay, treasurer, Mr. J. Taverner; committee, Messrs. C. Bearne, A. H. Williams, A. Wotton, A. Kirby, and F. W. Shearman. Another meeting will take place at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday next at the same hotel to discuss further details.
