Highweek Parish Council: The proposed Amalgamation: Mr. W. S. Pinsent presided at the ordinary meeting of Highweek Parish Council, on Monday evening, when there were also present: Messrs: J. Wright, A. B. Segar, J. Olver, W. H. Shilston, J. Dolbear, J. Shapley, T. Weatherdon, H. A. Burge, J. Adams, W. Brock, and C. G. Vicary. The Clerk reported he had received the following letter from the Newton Urban council: At a meeting of my Council held on the 21st inst., I was directed to enquire whether your Council are prepared to appoint a Committee to confer with a Committee of my Council and of the Highweek Parish Council, to consider the best course to be taken for the amalgamation of the parishes of Wolborough and Highweek for Local Government purposes.
