Crawley and District Observer: 28th January 1911

Inter-County Hockey Match: On the Worthing Sports Ground on Wednesday Kent defeated Sussex at hockey by four goals to one. The winner’s combination was far better than that of their opponents. Godrich, Pinsent and Satterthwaite, who scored one goal each, were responsible for Kent leading by 3 goals to 0 at half time. Sussex were seen to more advantage on resuming and with a little more luck in front of goal might have made matters level. Moore Radford brought off several smart saves but failed to stop a shot from Elwell. Godrich shot Kent’s fourth goal.
