Birmingham and Midland Institute Meeting of Members: The adjourned meeting of the members of the Birmingham and Midland Institute was held in the Small Lecture Theatre, to-day, for the purpose of receiving the scrutineers’ report on the election of the members of the Council, Mr. J. Humphreys presiding. — Mr. C. Hayes (secretary) stated that 457 votes were handed in, and all were accepted, and that the Archbishop of York had written accepting the presidency of the Institute for the year. The following the complete list of officers; — Official Governors; The Archbishop of York (President); Mr. John Humphreys (Senior Vice-President); Councillor Harrison Barrow (Junior Vice-President); Councillor Godlee Professor Heath (Representative of University of Birmingham); Mr. Cary Gilson (Headmaster King Edward’s School), and the Rev. Canon W. Hobhouse (Warden of Queen’s College). City Governors: The Lord Mayor (Alderman W. H. Bowater); Aldermen Bishop and Sayer; Councillors Lord and Rudland. Elective Governors: Messrs. W. Bentley, H. T. Buckland, Lewis O. Mathews, H. H. Monckton, H. New, J. A. Oslor, Hume C. Pinsent, J. H. Reynolds, S. C. Taunton, G. H. Twigg and Whitworth Wallis: Industrial Governors: Messrs. R.
