Birmingham Daily Post: Saturday 30th March 1889

Birmingham County Court: Yesterday before His Honour Judge Chalmers: Application for a New Trial: An application was made for a new trial of the action brought by James Reynolds and Co., of Gloucester, flour miller, against Walter Bladin, of King Edward’s Road, Birmingham, baker, to recover £31 17s 6d, the price of thirty sacks of flour. The action was tried on the 18th inst. before his Honour and a jury. Defendant alleged that the money had been paid to plaintiff’s traveller and, though this was denied by the traveller, the jury found for the defendant. Mr. Parfitt (instructed by Messrs. Smith, Pinsent, and Co.) appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr. O’Connor for the defendants.
