Meeting of Creditors: A meeting of the creditors of Anson Edwin Martin (trading as Morris and Co.) of 136 Broad Street, Birmingham, Chemist and Druggist, was held on Thursday, at the offices of Messrs. Hawkes and Weekes, Solicitors, Temple Street, Birmingham. The statements of affairs, read by Mr. J.M. Garland, the Receiver, showed liabilities of £688 17s 11d, and assets of £192 10s. Mr. Pinsent, solicitor, and Mr. Lescher (Wing, Wing and Co.) of London and Mr. H. Brothers, accountant, represented creditors. Mr. Baker, on behalf of the debtor explained that a difficulty arose with regard to Mr. Pinsent’s client who claimed to be secured, and, therefore, the debtor was not in a position to make an offer to the creditors. After a long discussion, it was proposed that the meetings should be adjourned for a fortnight to enable the receiver to dispose of the business, if possible, so that the debtor might be in a position to make an offer, to which the creditors agreed.
