Joseph Burton’s third son, George William Pynsent is enigmatic as I have no birth record for him and know very little about his early life. George was, however, living and working at the family dairy when the magistrates fined him £7 8s for delivering a short measure of milk in 1945. He may have been in trouble with the police a few years later as well, as we find that George William Pynsent (among others) were slated to appear at an “Appeals Session of the Quarter Courts” held in Parramatta in August 1949 (Sydney Morning Herald: Wednesday 10th August 1949). What that was about, I do not know.
George William Pynsent married Beryl Irene Roberts although, again, I do not know exactly when or where. According to a tree on “Ancestry.ca,” they married in 1946 and divorced a few years later. Beryl (a.k.a “Berle”) filed for divorce in 1953. The cause was heard in the Matrimonial Court in Sydney in July 1953 (Sydney Morning Herald: Wednesday 29th July 1953). It was granted. Beryl appears to have died in Arncliffe in January the following year, 1954 (Sydney Morning Herald: Wednesday 13th January 1954). I am not aware of any children.
The Electoral Rolls show that George William Pynsent was living on his own, on William Street in Belmore East, in 1958. He was a “machinist.” Perhaps it was a trade he had learned in forces. He married again a few years later they lived lived on Longfield Street in Cabramatta, another suburb of Sydney, in 1963. They had at least one child. There may have been other children that I do not know about. George died in 1976. I do not know about his second wife.

Lindsay seems to have been was a talented amateur boxer as a young man, and some of his bouts were mentioned in the local press: “The Sydney Boxing: Fixtures: … North Sydney Stadium: Wednesday … Flyweight: … (includes) … F. Feackes v. Lyn Pynsent” (Sydney Morning Herald: Monday 25th May 1936). Lindsay served in the Australian army during the Second World War (Australia, World War II Military Service Records: 1939 – 1945) and worked for his father, a dairyman, delivering milk when he returned. Unfortunately, the dairy seems to have hit a bad patch. Lindsay and his brother George were caught selling short-measured pints on separate occasions in December 1945 and were fined £10 8s and £7 8s respectively (St. George Call (Kogarah): Friday 21st December 1945). Lindsay as the older of the two was thought to be more culpable.
Lindsay married Joan Flood in 1949. It was her second marriage. Her previous husband having died two years previously. I am not sure if Lindsay and Joan had children. She died in March 1971 (Sydney Morning Herald: 19th March 1971) and he died in June 1998 (Findagrave.com). By then, he was a retired electrician. He had been living in Sutherland, New South Wales.
