Loughborough Cultural Fete: This interesting display, which is so well calculated to excite a spirit of emulation among all classes in Loughborough and the neighbourhood, and to develop the powers of the soil when under the influence of scientific treatment took place on Tuesday, in the Corn Exchange, Town Hall. Although the society, which emanated from a few garden allottees, may be said to have remained in embryo for two years, this is its first exhibition after its complete organization. It has, to use a cultivator’s phrase,” been transplanted,” and like many subjects under its care, it has become more vigorous and promising in consequence. The room, although well adapted for the purpose by its diffusion of a due of light upon all the articles exhibited, was very warm and to some oppressive.
