Clerk of the Course: Mr. H. Magor. Hon. Secretary and Starter: Mr. E. White. Treasurer: Mr. T. Pinsent. Clerk of the Weights: Mr. S. E. Endacott. The annual races at Newton, which commenced yesterday and will be continued today, on the Teignbridge Racecourse (about half-a-mile from the town), were attended with unprecedented success, both as regards the spirited character of the running and the attendance. This is the fifth year they have been held since they were re-established, and the support which has been given to the efforts of the committee leaves no doubt as to the permanent feature they are likely to secure in the racing calendar for Devon. … …
