Teign Valley Railway: Great Defeat of the Scheme: Yesterday afternoon at five o’clock, in pursuance of the requisition addressed to the Portreeves of Newton Abbot and Newton Bushel, signed by 75 of the inhabitants of those towns, a public meeting was held at the Town Hall in Newton Abbot, for the purpose of taking into consideration the existing railway communication between that town, Torquay and Exeter.
