Joint Annual Meeting of the South Devon and Newton Agricultural Societies: The joint meeting of the above-named societies took place at Torquay yesterday (Thursday). The south Devon Society, in respect to the extent and fertility of the district it occupies, the comprehensiveness of its operations and the influential support it receives, is the leading one of the County … (description of event) …  The Dinner was held in Moggridges’ Union Hotel. The assembly room in this hotel is the most spacious in the town, and was gaily decorated with flags, streamers, and evergreens. An excellent dinner was provided to which at least 200 sat down.
